Lydia Ko's win at the Marathon Classic in Ohio yesterday was special for more than one reason.
Not only was it her 14th LPGA title and her fourth this year, but it also helped her top the $US7 million ($NZ10 million) mark for career tournament earnings, according to the LPGA Tour website.
That's not including the US$2m Ko has won in bonus prizes for topping the Race to the CME Globe standings the last two seasons, which takes her total earnings to almost NZ$13m.
The $316,000 she received from her win yesterday helping her over the mark at just 19 years of age.
Already this year she has accumulated $3.6 million with the British Open her last event before the 2016 Rio Olympics.
