Taking a week off the LPGA Tour has cost Lydia Ko the lead in the season points standings after Ariya Jutanugarn leap-frogged the world number one with a strong finish at the Reignwood LPGA Classic.
Jutanugarn shot a 65 to tie for sixth, six shots behind South Korea's In-Kyung Kim who claimed her first LPGA Tour victory in six years.
Jutanugarn moved into first on the Rolex Player of the Year standings with 251 points, four ahead of Ko who still leads the lucrative Race to the CME Globe standings.
Ko will have a chance to reclaim her lead in the season standings when she attempts to defend her title at the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship this weekend.
