Over-active imaginations are wondering if Augusta is going to add teenage marvel Lydia Ko to the club's miniscule list of female members.
Ko is visiting the famed Masters layout this week to collect her award from the Golf Writers Association of America as their female player of the year.
It is a chance, some campaigners argue, to make another move and invite Ko to be the club's first LPGA member alongside former Secretary of State Condaleezza Rice and business leaders Darla Moore and Virginia Rometty.
The female members list does not seem to have expanded since Augusta granted membership to women in August 2012.
Across the Atlantic, St Andrews broke 260 years of tradition and last year invited seven women to be honorary members of the club known as the home of golf.
