One of Europe's leading hopes to break a six-year drought in the British Open, Padraig Harrington, has withdrawn from this week's tournament after the death of his father.
Harrington, who has won twice on the US PGA tour this season and is ranked No 9 in the world, has returned to top form after a lean spell.
