New Zealand showed more fibre but were outclassed by Australia in their Tasman Cup golf clash in Adelaide today.
After trailing 16-2 following a one-sided first day, the young and inexperienced New Zealand team produced a stronger fight, but could not prevent a final 32-4 scoreline at the Royal Adelaide course.
It was the fifth consecutive win by Australia in the biennial competition.
While the result was no different today, the distance between the two teams was considerably closer, with the New Zealanders displaying considerably more pluck.
They managed one halved clash in the morning fourball contest, with teenagers Penny Newbrook (Rotorua) and Kyla Welsh finishing all square with Australian amateur champion Katy Jarochowicz and Sarah-Jane Kenyon.
The afternoon singles saw the visitors gain a solitary point from a halved match between the No 1s, Tina Howard (Taupo) and Melanie Holmes-Smith.
