Spanish star Sergio Garcia and world No.1 Tiger Woods surged into the top two places on the leaderboard late in the second round of the lucrative US PGA Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Florida.
Garcia fired a seven-under-par 65 to move to 11-under for the tournament, good enough to lead Woods by one after the 14-time major champion carded his second consecutive 67 to sit at 10-under par.
Masters champion Adam Scott is the best of the Australians at seven-under in a tie for eighth, just four shots off the lead with four holes to play.
