Tiger Woods could make his return to professional golf in two weeks, according to a report.
Understood to be a favourite tournament of the disgraced star, the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona set the stage for Woods' comeback from knee surgery last year and it is being touted as the place where he will end his "indefinite" leave of absence.
The Melbourne Herald Sun has fuelled speculation that Woods, who is believed to have undergone treatment for sex addiction at a Mississippi clinic, will play at the tournament despite Accenture being one of the first sponsors to abandon him after details of his marital infidelities were revealed in November.
It is understood that increasingly-short odds being placed on Woods appearing at this year's Masters tournament have added weight to the speculation.
"We don't know anything officially yet, but wouldn't that be nice?", tournament executive director Wade Dunagan told the Arizona Daily Star. "It would mean we'd get Tiger on his return two years in a row. Very cool."
PGA Tour officials told reporters they knew nothing of Woods' plans.
