High-profile caddy Steve Williams wants a win in New Zealand to complete his glittering golfing CV.
Williams, who caddies for world No 1 Tiger Woods, has been on the bag for wins in all four majors, and 142 tournaments worldwide, but never a New Zealand Open.
He had caddied for the winner of every event on the Australian tour, except for the New Zealand Open, he lamented.
His best has been second places with Australian golfers Terry Gale and Rod Pampling.
Woods played in the 2002 New Zealand Open at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club, but struggled with his putting and never threatened the leaders.
Williams was instrumental in attracting Woods down under.
The outcome was frustrating, Williams told New Zealand Golf magazine.
"Before I finish working for Tiger I will get him back here because the first time didn't go how I wanted it to go," Williams told the magazine.
"I really want to caddy for the winner of the New Zealand Open. Tiger is well aware that I really want him back and that I really want to win the New Zealand Open.
"And if not for Tiger, then I would not mind who I caddied for, if I could win it. It would mean a lot to me."
