New Zealand golfer Tim Wilkinson slumped to a final round two over 73 and a share of sixth place at the PGA Tour's Heritage Classic in the United States.
Lying second after a six-birdie third round yesterday, Wilkinson finished tied with Spain's Jose Maria Olazabal on eight-under 276.
American Brian Gay, helped by a monster eagle putt at the par-five second, charged to a scintillating 10-shot victory at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Three ahead of the field overnight, Gay clinched his second PGA Tour title after closing with a sparkling seven-under-par 64 at the picturesque Harbour Town Golf Links.
In just his second full season on the PGA Tour, Wilkinson has made four of eight cuts this term in the US, where he won US$1.16 million ($2.06 million) in his rookie season last year, with three top-10 results, including a best of second equal in the Texas Open.
