New Zealand golfer Tim Wilkinson is well placed after an excellent opening round at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship yesterday.
The Links Championship was played over three courses, and Wilkinson shot a five-under 67 at Kingsbarns to take a share of fifth place with five others.
Europe Ryder Cup vice-captain Thomas Bjorn shot a six-under 66 to take a share of the first-round lead with Ricardo Gonzalez of Argentina, Maarten Lafeber of the Netherlands and Martin Laird of Scotland.
