New Zealand golfer Tim Wilkinson slid backwards in the final round of his opening event of the new PGA Tour season in the United States yesterday. The left-hander ended the Sony Open in Hawaii with a two-over 72, in the process slipping from an overnight share of 26th place to a tie for 51st. He completed the US$5.4 million ($9.97 million) tournament with a two-under 278, to finish 13 shots behind the winner, American Zach Johnson.
