KEY POINTS:
Manawatu golfer Tim Wilkinson is on the cusp of playing on the US PGA Tour with one round remaining at the qualifying school in Florida.
Wilkinson shot a five-under 67 on the Panther Lake course to see him climb 30 places to 25th on twelve-under after five rounds of the gruelling event.
The top 25 and ties in the 166-strong field earn full membership rights on next year's PGA Tour, meaning nerves will be mounting for the usually-unflappable Palmerston North left-hander.
A consistent performer on the second-tier Nationwide Tour in recent years, Wilkinson will want to maintain momentum on the Crooked Cat course tomorrow.
He began the tournament with a sketchy 73 but has since shot 70, 68, 70 and 67.
An eagle on the par-five second hole got this morning's round away to the ideal start.
Veteran US-based New Zealander Grant Waite retains a chance of qualifying after carding 71 at Panther Lakes today to be nine-under.
However, Bradley Iles' chances appear shot despite a solid 70 today. He is outside the top 100 on three-under - nine strokes behind Wilkinson.
American Frank Lickliter II continues to lead comfortably on 28-under.
