Manawatu professional Tim Wilkinson has shot a three-under par 69 at the United Leasing Championship overnight (NZT) to climb seven places into a share of 25th place on the Nationwide Tour.
The former PGA Tour player, who is currently 45th on the Nationwide Order of Merit, is on a three round total of five-under par, six shots back from Australian Alistair Presnell (68, 68 and 69) who leads on an 11-under par total.
Wilkinson made plenty of birdies again, six in all, and three bogeys at the Victoria National Golf Club in Indiana in round three to keep with the pace.
His best performance for the 2012 season is a tie for ninth at the Panama Championship back in March as he looks to achieve some results to improve on his standing and return to the PGA Tour.
Wilkinson needs to finish inside the top 25 on the Nationwide Tour money list to automatically qualify for the PGA Tour in 2013.
