LONDON - Karrie Webb, the world's top woman golfer, is set to take on four of the world's best-known male players in a battle-of-the-sexes series.
Webb will face Nick Faldo, Stuart Appleby, Michael Campbell and John Daly on courses around the world, according to a report in Sydney's Sun-Herald.
The contest, being promoted by Greg Norman's former manager, Frank Williams, will be handicapped.
Webb wanted a match-up with world No 1 Tiger Woods, but that is believed to have fallen through because of the enormous appearance fee commanded by Woods.
"It's funny because a few of the golfers I approached were a bit nervous about committing themselves," Williams said.
"Nick Faldo has expressed the most interest. He is willing to back himself.
"Karrie is as good as Tiger inside 150 yards and I think a few people know that and are worried about being upstaged.
"This is a good chance for Karrie to show she is just as good as the men."
