Golf: Waite tied for third

New Zealand golfer Grant Waite pocketed US$36,350 ($57,700) for his third-place finish on a Nationwide Tour event in South Carolina yesterday.

Waite posted a final round five-under 67 to finish tied for third in the BMW Charity Pro-Am with Kevin Stadler on 11-under 275. American Ken Duke won by one shot.

Waite's compatriots, Tim Wilkinson and Michael Long, were tied for 24th on 280.
