HASTINGS - Hawkes Bay Golf Club professional Barry Vivian is planning a trip to Northern Ireland for the 2000 British Seniors Open following good form on the Australasian circuit.
The former New Zealand World Cup representative, in his first year on the 50-and-over senior circuit, has an exemption for the British tournament at Royal County Down in late July, on the back of his 1979 Australian Masters triumph.
This month, he won three 36-hole tournaments in Victoria and was runner-up in an 18-hole event. That followed similar success in Perth and at Wairakei on the seniors' circuit in March.
