Golfer Greg Kraft is suing the PGA Tour for failing to warn players about the risk of contracting a fungal infection at a tournament in Tucson, Arizona.
According to the St Petersburg Times, 39-year-old Kraft thinks he contracted valley fever - most common in the southwestern United States - at the Tucson Open in February last year.
"The tour had a responsibility to its players," said Kraft's lawyer, Leonard Decof. "They should have known about this."
Kraft, an 11-year tour player, earned US$71,756 ($110,800) this year, placing him 220th on the money list. He lost his tour card and the PGA Tour has refused to give him a medical waiver.
