PALM DESERT, California - American DJ Trahan chased down overnight leader Justin Leonard to clinch his second PGA Tour golf title by three shots at the Bob Hope Classic today.
Four strokes off the pace going into the final round, Trahan birdied four of the first six holes on his way to a sparkling seven-under-par 65 at the Classic Club.
The 27-year-old grabbed the lead for the first time with a birdie at the par-five 14th and picked up one more shot at the par-five last to finish at 26-under 334.
Leonard, three ahead with nine holes to play, lost momentum with two consecutive bogeys from the 10th before driving into water to bogey the last for a closing 72 and second place.
