KEY POINTS:
QUEENSTOWN - It was a disappointing end to Michael Campbell's first round at the New Zealand Open in Arrowtown.
Campbell bogeyed the 18th hole to complete an opening round one over par 73. He is five shots off the lead.
Aussie veteran Craig Parry is amongst those at the top of the leaderboard at four under the card. He is hesitant to guess what will be a good score tomorrow. Parry says if the wind is not blowing then you can shoot a low number, but if it blows, then par is a good score.
Parry is joined by countryman Paul Sheehan and England's Matthew Woods on four-under.
Michael Long is the best of the Kiwi golfers at three under par, while Gareth Paddison and Richard Lee are one shot further back.
The shot of the day has gone to Australian Martin Doyle, with a hole in one at the par three seventh.
Doyle says he knew it was close as soon as it hit the green. He says once it took its first bounce it never looked like missing and was either going to hit the flag, or go in.
Doyle ended the day at one under par.
The morning conditions at the 6610m The Hills course were conducive to good scores but a strong southerly wind which hit just after noon pushed scoring out in the afternoon.
