New Zealand golfer Josh Geary completed a tidy weekend's work to finish tied for seventh in the Australian PGA Championship on Queensland's Sunshine Coast yesterday.
Geary improved four places on his overnight position at Coolum thanks to a closing round of three-under-par 68.
That left him on seven-under 277 for the championship alongside prominent Australians Stuart Appleby, Geoff Ogilvy and Rod Pampling, seven shots behind their compatriot Robert Allenby, who posted 66 today to win by four strokes.
Geary thrust himself up the leaderboard on Saturday with a third round of 66 and he went close to replicating that effort yesterday with a round containing four birdies and one bogey.
Of the other New Zealanders, Mahal Pearce was 24th equal on 282 after shooting 70 today while left-hander Tim Wilkinson was another two strokes back after managing a 72.
David Smail closed with a 74 to tie for 66th place on 296.
