Defending champion David Toms retained his St Jude Classic golf title in Tennessee yesterday after a closing round of two-over-par 73 earned him victory by six shots.
American Toms, the 2001 US PGA champion, went into a windswept final day seven shots clear of the field and finished at 16-under 268.
Bob Estes carded 69 for second place, with Steve Lowery shooting 67 and Tim Herron 70 to be a further stroke back in a tie for third at nine-under.
