Rumours of Tiger Woods' imminent return to golf were last night rubbished by his Kiwi caddie Steve Williams.
Williams rejected claims made in Australia's Herald Sun newspaper that Woods was set to make a dramatic comeback following sordid revelations about his private life late last year.
Speaking at the Manawatu Saloon Championships in Palmerston North last night, Williams said: "All that I will say is the story circulating out of a Melbourne newspaper has no fabric to it at all."
But Williams refused to say when his boss might return to the fairways.
Dressed casually in a singlet, shorts and glasses, Williams said he was focusing on his upcoming stock car race.
