There's a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard as the second round of the NZ PGA Championship at The Hills nears completion today.
Kiwi Michael Hendry is at 10-under alongside Australians Scott Strange and Aaron Townsend heading in to the weekend, while a group of three players - Gareth Paddison, Rohan Blizard and Michael Long - are one stroke back at nine-under the card.
Hendry, the defending champion did get to 11-under at one point during his round but a double bogey on the par-four 14th proved costly.
Mathew Perry and Josh Geary are the next best-placed Kiwis in a share of eighth at seven-under, alongside Japanese Tour pro Toshinori Muto and Australians Scott Laycock and Kim Felton.
Other notable Kiwis who performed well today included veteran Greg Turner who shot a four-under 68 to be in a tie for 19th at five-under, while Mark Brown fired a 67 to join Turner at five-under the card.
