New Zealand golfer Phil Tataurangi shot his second consecutive 67 yesterday to stay in the running for a United States PGA Tour card next year.
Tataurangi's five-under round at the Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, left him tied for 19th at the PGA qualifying school with two of the six rounds remaining.
The top 35 players and ties gain exempt status for PGA Tour events next year.
Tataurangi had a four-round total of 275, 13-under, and was tied with eight other players.
The situation was a little more tenuous for fellow New Zealander Steven Alker.
The Hamilton player shot a two-under 70 to be tied for 54th with 12 other players on 279.
Alker raced into contention for a top-35 finish on Saturday with a six-under 66.
Going into the last two rounds, he is two shots outside the top 35 and ties.
