Golf: Tataurangi blows out at Winged Foot

Phil Tataurangi has had an absolute nightmare of a start at the US Open golf in New York.

Tataurangi has fired an horrific 16-over-par on the gruelling Winged Foot course.

He shot a staggering 11 bogeys, one double bogey and a triple bogey on the first hole.

Colin Montgomerie is the early clubhouse leader at one under.

Jim Furyk and Phil Mickelson are finished at even par.

Meanwhile, current Open champion Michael Campbell of New Zealand has made a steady start to his round, at even par after five holes.
