Golf: Strong start for Wilkinson, Ko steady in Taiwan

Kiwi Tim Wilkinson is right in the mix after an impressive opening round at the latest PGA Tour event in Malaysia.

Wilkinson fired a four-under par 68 to be in a tie for fifth, just three shots off the lead.

Hus round included seven birdies, but that excellent work was undone with a bogey on the second and a double bogey on the par-four 13th.

Sweden's Rikard Karlberg leads the field after a round of seven-under 65.

Meanwhile, Lydia Ko produced a three-under 69 to be amongst the top 20 at the LPGA Tour event in Taiwan.

Ko mixed four birdies with a bogey to sit five shots off the lead held by China's Shanshan Feng.
