Golf: Singh pulls out of PGA event

Vijay Singh, the defending champion at the Deutsche Bank Championship, pulled out of the US$5.5 million ($8.07 million) PGA golf event yesterday.

He said he hoped to return to Boston, where the championship is played, next year.

The 42-year-old Fijian-Indian suffered back spasms while playing table tennis with his son, Qass.
