North Island champion Dana Kim is through to the semifinals of the national amateur championships at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club.
Kim, of Christchurch, will play Auckland's Larissa Eruera, 15, in one semifinal later today while Whakatane's Zoe-Beth Brake will play Australian Jessica Noh in the other semifinal.
Kim was pushed to the 22nd hole where she made a birdie to beat 13-year-old Cecilia Cho, of Pakuranga, in the quarterfinals this morning.
Tauranga's Kevin Smith will play Takaka's Sean Riordan while Ryan Fox, of Auckland, meets Thomas Spearman-Burn, of Miramar, in the men's semifinals.
Smith beat Marton's Lachie McDonald 5 and 4 in his quarterfinal while Riordan accounted for the 2006 national champion Andrew Green, of Shandon, 2 up.
On the other side of the draw, Fox edged out his Auckland clubmate Ben Wallace 1 up after Wallace went out of bounds with his drive while Spearman-Burn beat North Harbour's Todd Baek 3 and 2.
The semifinals are this afternoon with the finals over 36 holes tomorrow.
