Michael Campbell's comeback has lasted just one round at the British Masters, missing the cut after being unable to follow up his bright start to the tournament.
Campbell was left "completely flabbergasted" after finding himself close to the top of the leaderboard, but came back down to earth this morning, firing a second-round nine-over par 80 to slump to a share of 125th, missing the cut by six strokes.
Campbell, who still hasn't made the cut on the European Tour since 2013, rolled back the years in his opening round but the 51-year-old carded eight bogies, a double bogey and a solitary birdie in his second round, in what was the worst round of the day and left him only ahead of four competitors on the leaderboard.
New Zealand still has a player in the hunt however, with Ryan Fox sitting in a share of eighth after carding consecutive 67s to be eight-under par - just three shots off the lead.
