Golf: Ryan Fox holes out for hole-in-three

Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox captured one of the more memorable pars of his career during another top five finish on the European Tour.

Fox has finished tied for the fourth at the Scottish Open at Dundonald Links after a final round two-under 70 to take home 223,241 euros.

The par three sixth provided his shot of the day after he went out of bounds from the tee.

Fox hit his second ball, his third shot for the hole, straight into the hole for a hole-in-three.

"Not the only hole-in-three I've heard of, a mate had one back home. It was pretty cool to be able to do that today," Fox said after his round.

"I hit probably the worst shot I've hit as a pro followed by the best shot I've hit as a pro."

Fox ended the tournament five shots back from Spain's Rafa Cabrera Bello and England's Callum Shinkwin. Cabrera Bello eventually defeated Shinkwin in a playoff.

It's Fox's third top 10 finish in his last three tournaments and puts him in fine form ahead of the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
