Taupo's Troy Ropiha won the Wanganui Open on the Belmont course in Wanganui after a great second round of five under par 65.
Ropiha got to five under par after 12 holes on the back of some blemish-free golf but, by his own admission, limped home very nervously with six pars to hold off Nick Gillespie, who added a 69 to his first round of 67.
Nick Davey, the PGA club professional from Te Puke, scored a 67 today, five birdies and two bogeys, to be alone in third place on a 138 total.
Auckland's Hogan Cho rattled home today with a 65 to finish fourth, tide with Michael Hendry from North Harbour (69).
