KEY POINTS:
Play was delayed for a minimum of four hours today at the US$650,000 ($840,227) New Zealand PGA Championship after continuing rain pelted Christchurch's waterlogged Clearwater golf course.
With much of the 6153m course already saturated by overnight rain, this morning's 7.30 tee-off was delayed until 11.30am as rain continued unabated.
A further evaluation was expected at around 10.30am.
Canadian David Hearn, Darron Stiles, of Australia, and Matt Bettencourt, of the United States, led the field after yesterday's opening round, with a six under par 66.
New Zealand golfer Michael Campbell, scheduled for a 7.50am tee-off today, was four shots off the pace with a one-under 70.
Clearwater is part of the Australasian PGA Tour and the second-tier US PGA Nationwide Tour.
