'For somebody as successful in the Ryder Cup as I am I don't think it's smart to sit me twice,' he said of Furyk's decision to leave him out of the foursomes, according to the New York Times.
It was a different story at Hazeltine in 2016, where Reed, paired with Spieth, won two-and-half points for the USA.
However, they were kept apart by Furyk this time around, and Reed blasted the 25-year-old three-time major winner for putting himself ahead of the team.
'Every day I saw, "Leave your egos at the door". They [Europe] do that better than us,' said Reed.
'The issue's obviously Jordan not wanting to play with me.
'I don't have any issue with Jordan. When it comes right down to it I don't care if I like the person I'm paired with or if the person likes me as long as it works.
'He and I know how to make each other better. We know how to get the job done.'
