KEY POINTS:
New Zealand golfer Gareth Paddison had his maiden tournament victory in Europe yesterday, taking the Open des Volcans-Challenge de France.
He resumed his closing round on Sunday night after weather delays, holding a five-shot lead with just five holes to play, and duly delivered by stretching his advantage to six shots.
Paddison shot a five-under 66 in the last round for a total of 11-under 273. Fellow New Zealander Stephen Scahill finished in a share of 29th on 290.
Paddison pocketed ¬20,800 ($36,855) to take him into the top 10 on the moneylist. The leading 20 at season's end earn automatic promotion to the 2008 European Tour.
