Leading New Zealand women's golf international Penny Newbrook is expected to play with the boys this weekend.
Newbrook has been selected by her Springfield Golf Club to play in the Bay of Plenty Golf Association's championship pennant series, which tees off at Omanu, Mt Maunganui, tomorrow.
She is named at No 4 in Springfield's red (B) side to play the host club in matchplay foursomes and singles.
It is understood to be the first time a female amateur has gone head to head in matchplay in a championship series in NZ.
