New Zealand Golf is hoping to clear the financial hurdle that's currently stopping them from turning the New Zealand Women's Open into an LPGA sanctioned event.
With around $5m of funding needed to run the event NZ Golf have been trying to do all in their power to source the money and appeal to the LPGA.
NZ Golf CEO Dean Murphy says they're still currently in talks with officials but insists there will be a positive outcome.
Murphy says they're confident they'll have a spectacular women's open in the future but are not sure what the final product will look like just yet.
