It didn't take Lydia Ko long to get over her disappointing final round at the US Open on Monday. The world number one shot an opening round three-under 68 at the Marathon Classic this morning to sit two shots off the lead.
Ko, who was leading the US Open midway through the final round before finishing tied for third, sits in a share of seventh place, two shots back from a trio of leaders in Hyo Joo Kim, Mirim Lee, both South Korea, and Japan's Haru Nomura.
The Kiwi did have the best of starts recording a bogey on the opening hole but finished strong by going birdie-birdie on the final two holes.
Ko won the event in 2014 and is looking to record her fifth straight top five finish on the LPGA Tour. She also looks in line to make her 80th LPGA cut in 81 events.
World number two Brooke Henderson sits one shot ahead of Ko while US Open winner Brittany Lang and Swede Anna Norquist, who lost the US Open playoff, both began the tournament with opening round 70s.
