Golf: Long in touch in Melbourne

Michael Long is the best of the New Zealand contingent heading into the third round of the Victorian Golf Open in Melbourne this morning.

Long fired a five under 67 in the second round to move to six under par, five shots off the leader, Australian David Podlich.

Marcus Wheelhouse is the next best New Zealander - three under par after a one over 73 in the second round.

Richard Lee is another two shots back at one under while Paul Devenport is at even par for the tournament.

However Carl Brooking, Steve Alker and Grant Moorhead have missed the cut.
