Kiwi golfer Danny Lee is still in the hunt at The Barclays tournament on the PGA Tour, despite an inconsistent second round.
Lee shot four bogies and three birdies in a one-over par round of 71, dropping back 10 spots to a tie for 15th at three-under for the tournament.
However, he is not the only player to find scoring tough, sitting only four shots off the lead in a tightly contested leaderboard - headed by Bubba Watson at seven-under. Watson leads by a shot over the quartet of Tony Finau, Henrik Stenson, Jason Dufner and Open Championship winner Zach Johnson.
World number one Jordan Spieth had his worst tournament in years, shooting a second-round 73 after a first-round 74 to miss the cut by five shots.
The tournament is the first in the FedEx Cup playoffs, with 125 players taking part for the $8,250,000 prize pool and a spot in next week's tournament, where the field will be cut to the top 100 players on the FedEx leaderboard.
Lee will comfortably ease into the next event, currently projected to be ninth on the leaderboard.
Meanwhile, Kiwi number two Ryan Fox has had a superb second round at the D+D Real Czech Masters on the European Tour.
Fox shot the round of a day - a five-under 67 to be the big mover on the leaderboard, jumping up 72 spots to sit in a tie for 25th.
Usually participating on the Challenge Tour, Fox's chance to play in this low-level European Tour event could prove beneficial to his world ranking which is already an impressive 124th.
He is seven shots off the lead held by Sweden's Pelle Edberg and England's Matthew Fitzpatrick.
