Kiwi golfer Danny Lee enjoyed a nice run of birdies during the middle of his opening round at The Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia on the PGA Tour as he signed for a five-under 65.
Lee made birdies from holes 6-10 today as he bounced back from two early bogeys and then made three more birdies and another bogey during a colourful round of scoring as he finished the day in a share of second place.
"I was hitting the ball really good," Lee told the PGA Tour's website. "I made a couple of bad decisions early in my round but it happens out here."
There are eight players in a tie for second, one shot behind leader Jonas Blixt who carded an impressive six-under 64 to start the week in style.
Manawatu's Tim Wilkinson began with a solid two-under 68 to sit in a share of 31st.
