Kiwi golfer Danny Lee made a promising start to the Northern Trust Open on the PGA Tour in California after he carded a one-under 70 during the opening round.
Lee's round today included five birdies and four bogeys and left him in a share of 17th place when play was suspended due to darkness with a handful of golfers still on the course.
Manawatu's Tim Wilkinson struggled in his round as he fired a three-over 74 that left him in a tie for 85th.
Fijian veteran Vijay Singh is part of a six-way tie at the top of the leaderboard at five-under.
