Rookie golf professional Danny Lee slipped off the pace in the second round of the US$8.5 million ($12.9 million) WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
The New Zealand 19-year-old followed up his opening round 68 with a three-over-par 73 to slip to a share of 35th with players still out on the Firestone Country Club course.
Lee, who enjoyed a hot putter in his opening round, saw his touch go cold with his second round requiring 32 putts.
His round featured two birdies and five bogeys which left him with a two-round total of 141, assured of making the cut.
Lee, the youngest player to contest a World Golf Championship event, was eight shots behind clubhouse leader Ireland's Padraig Harrington.
