New Zealand No 1 Danny Lee is in danger of missing the cut at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans after an even par round of 72 left him in a tie for 69th after the first round of the PGA Tour event.
The 21-year-old, who finished in a share of 63rd at last week's Valero Texas Open, is currently 156th on the Fed Ex Cup standings. He will begin the second round seven shots behind American leaders Ken Duke and Cameron Tringale, who opened with rounds of seven under 65.
Fellow Kiwi David Smail has continued his good form on the Japan Golf Tour with a two under par 68 at the Crowns Championship to be in a share of seventh place after the first round.
The five-time winner on the Japan Golf Tour made three birdies and a bogey to be three shots back from Kenichi Kuboya (65) of Japan.
Kiwi Tim Wilkinson has also enjoyed a solid start to the South Georgia Classic on the Nationwide Tour, opening with a one under par 71 to be tied for 29th after round one.
