New Zealand golfer Danny Lee has moved into the top 25 on the Nationwide Tour after sharing fifth place at the Stadion Classic in Georgia today (NZT).
Lee backed up his third round 66 with a three-under par 68 in the final round; an eight-under total of 276 good enough for a share of fifth place with three other players at the University of Georgia Golf Club.
Lee's second successive top-10 finish on the Nationwide Tour earns him a $US21,656 pay cheque and takes tour earnings from four events this year to $US43,536, placing him 23rd on the money list. The top 25 at season's end earn a PGA Tour card for next year.
Amateur Russell Henley won the $US550,000 ($NZ695,830) tournament on his home course with a 12-under total of 272, two strokes ahead of American Troy Kelly. Henley, a University of Georgia senior, is just the second amateur to win on the Nationwide Tour.
Josh Geary, the only other New Zealander to make the cut, finished in a tie for 55th at one-over for the tournament.
