KEY POINTS:
HONG KONG- New Zealand amateur star Danny Lee has been forced to withdraw from this week's Hong Kong Open with chicken pox.
Lee, 18, broke out in a rash early in the week and visited a Hong Kong doctor on Tuesday evening who diagnosed the virus.
Lee's uncle Rambert Sim advised Hong Kong officials yesterday of his nephew's illness.
The US amateur champion has been advised to remain in Hong Kong until his condition improves.
It is a bitter blow for the New Zealander, who accepted an invite to compete in the co-sanctioned Asian and European Tour event.
Lee's presence at next week's Australian Masters in Melbourne is now in doubt.
