New Zealand golfer Danny Lee has maintained his compelling form with a hot first round in the Nationwide Tour's Cox Classic in the United States today.
The 21-year-old shot a seven-under-par 64 to sit snugly in a tie for second place midway through the opening day of the $US725,000 ($NZ859,380) event at Champions Run in Omaha, Nevada.
Lee, who ended his round one stroke behind American Matt Weibring, has posted four top 10 results on the second tier tour this season to sit 19th on the moneylist.
Another New Zealander, Steve Alker, shot a 71 and was tied for 78th.
