Danny Lee fired a bogey-free four-under 66 during the final round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial on the PGA Tour to record his third top-10 finish of the season.
Lee's four birdies helped him climb a congested leaderboard in Texas today as he finished in a tie for 10th at nine-under, three strokes back from winner Chris Kirk (12-under). Kirk was one shot ahead of a trio of players, including Masters champion Jordan Spieth, who shared second place at 11-under.
Lee began the week in 56th on the FedEx Cup standings and the 24-year-old was projected to jump to 52nd. The world No 176 has been the best-performed Kiwi on the PGA Tour this season. Fellow New Zealanders Tim Wilkinson and Steven Alker weren't in the field at the Colonial Country Club this week.
Meanwhile, on the PGA Tour China circuit, Kiwis Daniel Pearce, Josh Geary and Mathew Perry have all finished inside the top 10 at the United Investment Real Estate WuHan Open.
Canadian Justin Shin won the tournament at 12-under, while Pearce finished in a tie for fifth at four-under with Geary and Perry one stroke back in a share of ninth.
