New Zealand golf No 1 Danny Lee has made a steady start to the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open as he fights for his card on the PGA Tour.
The 21-year-old Rotorua professional, who is currently 169th on the PGA Tour money list, needs to climb inside the top 125 over the next four events of the Fall Series.
He has opened with a two-under par 70 at the TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada to be in a share of 41st place and eight shots back from American Ryan Moore (61).
Meanwhile, on the European Tour Michael Campbell has fired a superb five-under par 67 at the Old Course of St Andrews to be in a share of 19th place at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.
The tournament is staged over three courses - the Old Course at St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Carnoustie.
