Kiwi golfer Danny Lee has plummeted down the leaderboard at the Northern Trust Open on the PGA Tour in California.
The 24-year-old carded a six-over 77 in his third round today, which left him in 73rd at seven-over for the week.
His horror round included five bogeys, a double bogey and a birdie and he will look to consolidate with a competitive final round to jump up the standings to bolster his earnings. Lee came in to the tournament in 42nd place on the FedEx Cup standings but he will likely drop a few places.
Manawatu left-hander Tim Wilkinson missed the cut this week around rounds of 74 and 72 and was projected to drop down the FedEx Cup standings to 166th. Hamilton's Steven Alker didn't play this weekend.
South African Retief Goosen leads the Northern Trust Open at eight-under. He is two strokes ahead of Canadian Graham DeLaet.
