Lydia Ko has slipped off the pace at the US Women's Open after shooting a two-over par 72 in her second round this morning.
Starting her round on the 10th hole, a back-nine 37 was the cause of Ko's slide down the leaderboard, with a double bogey on the 12th and a bogey on the 18th undoing her birdie start to the round. Ko then played the front nine in a steady even-par 35 to card the two-over 72, sending her falling 15 spots into a tie for 32nd.
Scoring is traditionally tough at the Open - one of the LPGA Tour's five majors - and it has been no different so far this week at the Lancaster Country Club, with the cut set to be made at six-over par. Because of that, Ko could leap into contention with a low round tomorrow, being only four shots back from fifth place.
However, catching the leader could be a tough task for many, with South Korea's Amy Yang making a brilliant start to the tournament, sitting at seven-under par after two rounds, three shots ahead of American Stacy Lewis.
Ko has now made four consecutive cuts at the Open, finishing tied for 39th as an amateur in 2012, T36 in 2013 and in a share of 15th in 2014.
